Breast Cancer

Monday September 15, 2003
Today I ran in our annual Race for the Cure, a benefit for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Every year I am touched by then number of women and men running and walking in this event with photos of loved ones taped to their backs. Some have survived their battle with cancer, some have not. I am especially moved by the survivors dressed in pink with their family and friends walking beside them. I see many who I suspect are lesbian. Are lesbians more at risk for breast cancer? Where can we turn to for advice and assistance when we are diagnosed?
