Bette Midler's Letter to President Bush

Wednesday March 10, 2004
I've had the letter forwarded to me by at least three different people. Perhaps you've seen it too; Bette Midler's letter to President Bush condemning his support of a Constitutional Amendment to ban same-sex marriage. When I got the letter, I wondered if Bette really wrote it. There are so many things like that circulating on the internet. Well, it turns out, that letter was NOT written by Bette Midler. She may very well agree with the sentiment, but she did not write it. About's Urban Legends Guide explains how Bette Midler's letter supporting gay marriage was circulated.
