Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment Expected to Die

A Senate vote today on the proposed Constitutional Amendment to ban gay and lesbian marriages seems likely to die. Republicans were trying to force a vote on the issue before the November elections. Democratic presidential candidates, John Kerry and John Edwards were both planning to return to Washington from campaigning to vote against the measure. Now it looks like the amendment will not even make it to the Senate floor for a vote. Read the full story here.
