March is Women's History Month and here at Lesbian Life we're featuring different lesbians from history and historical information about lesbians from our past. It may be hard to believe, but back in the early 1900s there was a certain social acceptance of two women who chose to share their lives with each other. It happened so often around the women's colleges in Massachusetts, that the couples were referred to as being in a "Boston Marriage."
