History of Gay Pride

I'm in San Francisco attending one of the biggest gay pride celebrations in the world. Heck, the San Francisco Dyke March is bigger than most cities' whole gay pride events. People come from all over the globe to be in the gayest city in the world for gay pride. And as you read this, I'll be in the middle of it all! Even though San Francisco is the gayest city, it is not the start of what is known as the modern gay rights movement. That honor goes to a tiny, seedy bar in New York City known as the Stonewall Inn. How did the gay rights movement begin?.
