L Word 403: The Return of Ton-Ton

Monday January 22, 2007
I finally figured out what I don’t like about that new TA of Bette’s. She’s exactly the same person as Tonya. Remember, the Ton, Ton from Season 2? The one who screwed Dana over and killed Mr. Piddles. No good is going to come from this Bette. Keep away from Nadia! Do I see sexual harassment suit in the future?

But let’s talk about Shane, shall we? Shane who is trying so hard to be a good guardian to her little brother. Don’t you love how she stood up to that principal and got him into school? But what’s up with Shane and the ladies? Did you notice the women at Tina’s party flirting with her? She just wanted to get away from them. And then at the Planet, when she finally meets Papi, she just says “You win,” and walks away. And not even to pick up some girl. What do you think of the new Shane? Do you like that she’s not so girl-crazy or do you wish she would get some action?

And speaking of action. How about that Crazy Hot Lesbian Cowgirl Party -- Rancho Notorious? Now that’s the kind of party I wish they would throw at my local lesbian bar. Phyllis was excited to see those go-go dancers get all dirty. But she was even more excited to meet Alice. “She’s so vibrant.” Oh Alice. I love you too, but that shamrock green dress? Where did you get that thing? Voice your opinion of The L Word fashion this season below.

I don't know why, but it finally really hit me this episode that Dana is really dead and that Carmen is not coming back. I miss them both. Who do you miss more?
Catch up on Season 4 of The L Word

I love Alice. LOVE her. She is my favorite…I mean what’s not to like. Except maybe some of her clothes. I have to agree I was not thrilled at her fashion choices. On the other hand, she pulled it off & still looked cute. I love that she asked Phyllis out on a date. Cool.

I loved how Shane handled Papi. Please, “I am your competition?” - her response just showed how secure she is with herself. Unlike Papi who I think is insecure because of all the women she has to have. Can anyone say Chlamydia? Yes I get the point, women can be players too. Congrats, now moving on to real story-lines… What was Bette doing! This story-line shows that women in power positions can be just as disappointing as men; just as subject to flattery.
I applaud the development in Shane’s character. She’s been through a lot recently and I am not surprised that she’s on sabbatical from dating. Especially since she is taking the big sis thing seriously.
And Max. Granted he is finding his identity through all the stereotypical male ways. But this really is how men bond and develope - stereotypes. And the way the writers are handling this shows great sensitivity. Finally a male story-line fit for the L-word. I’m especially glad to see him lose several of the asshole tendencies he had due to the hormones.
But the only sex was the car scene (sigh of disappointment) with Bette and her TA. And it didn’t show anything for the whole ten seconds of the scene. So is this show only on Showtime so they can say “fuck”? And the dialogue! “Is it wrong, blah, blah, blah…” That would be a turn off for me even if Salma Hayek was saying it.
L-word writers, if you are going to subject us to the atrocity of Bette being stupid enough to fuck a TA, could you at least make the come-ons from said TA a bit more appealing?

I would have to agree w/everything you said from Nadia to Alice.

I do, however, have to relish in the “new” Shane. I LOVE the fact that she is so hot, that she doesn’t have to compete w/Papi. While Papi is hot in her own regard, I will forever & always be devoted to Shane. I have to admit, that when she said “you win” & walked away, I became more infatuated w/her. Shane is going through a lot & the fact that she is being responsible is a side of her that we haven’t seen through the seasons. To me, there is nothing sexier than a woman who has the looks, ambition & is responsible. I’m still weighing in on the Papi “hit’em & find the next” that is running her days. I do think this will bring in a few interesting storylines down the road though. We all know how small the lesbian community can get… =)

BTW, Kathy, love the new picture~

It just isn’t the same without Carmen and Dana. I can’t stand it!
And I don’t like where this Nadia thing is going either.
