Is it Legal to Discriminate Against Gays and Lesbians?
Monday March 26, 2007
How often have you done this? You're out late with your friends, maybe dancing and hanging out at the gay or lesbian bar. Last call comes, but you're not ready to go home yet. So, you and a few friends head out to a restaurant. Maybe one of those chains that stays open really late. You don't even think about it as you turn and give your girlfriend a quick smooch on the lips. Happens all the time right? Well, what if after that innocent smooch, the restaurant manager came up and told you you have to leave? That's exactly what happened to a lesbian couple recently in Kansas.
Can they really do that? They would never ask a straight couple to leave for an innocent kiss. Can they really kick someone out of a restaurant for being a lesbian? Is it legal to discriminate against lesbians and gays? The answer may surprise you.

I say a Nationwide boycott of IHOP..at least until their homeoffice makes a statement of apology and changes that policy to one of equal treatment. I for one will not eat there again until I hear or read their apology.
Whatever happened to created equal in the Constitution? Maybe they should re-read their favorite Biblical passage regarding Sodom and Gemorrah, the sin was greed and inhospitality, not homosexual behavior.
Sandy is right, we should boycot any business that dicriminates against anyone but we must also VOTE. We are more powerful than we think. How do you think the fundalmentalist right wing got so many in office. They rallied together at the polls. Don’t be lulled into thinking it won’t count.
