John McCainAs the 2008 elections draw nearer, it's important to understand where each candidate stands on issues of importance to the gay and lesbian community: issues like gay and lesbian adoption, hate crime legislation, gay marriage and civil unions. Today we look at Republican hopeful John McCain. This is John McCain's second time seeking the Republican nomination for president. He lost in his last attempt to George Bush in 2000. John McCain is a Senator from Arizona, the only state to beat a gay-marriage ban in the 2006 elections. Did John McCain support his state's gay marriage ban? And if he is elected president, what will his policies be on gay and lesbian issues?
