A friend of mine is off with her daughter checking out colleges this week. This is the time of year when many parents and students pay visits to the colleges that they might want to attend. There are many things to consider when choosing a college: the cost, what courses you wish to study and if any financial aid is available. In a perfect world, a student wouldn't have to worry whether or not the school they are hoping to attend is welcoming to gays. If you are gay or lesbian, or even questioning your sexuality, finding a place where you will feel free to be open about it is very important. Here are some tips for finding a gay-friendly college.

Don't just stop there. Find yourself a GLBT scholarship too.
