Ellen and Portia to Get Married

Marriage is in the air! After the California Supreme Court announced this week that it is lifting the state ban on gay marriage, many Californians are talking about tying the knot. And that includes celebrities. Ellen DeGeneres announced on her talk show that she and Portia will be getting married now that it's legal. Here is what Ellen said:
Yesterday, if you haven’t heard, the California Supreme Court overturned a ban on gay marriage. So I would like would like to say, right now for the first time, I am announcing I am getting married. (Standing ovation from the audience. Shot of Portia, clapping and smiling.) I’ll tell you who the lucky guy is soon. (laughs) I’m so excited. If I’m so emotional now just saying it, I can’t imagine how it’s going to be. Ellen and Portia aren't the only celebrities celebrating. Melissa Etheridge said:
We’re moving forward. It makes me feel happy for the whole human race that we are finally getting out of our differences and coming together and we are putting this all behind us. Congratulations. Would like to say the same thing here in Italy. However here things seem getting worst for the gay community.
Congrats to Ellen and Portia!!! Glad we finally have marriage rites.
It’s great to see Ellen and Portia are taking advantage of the opportunity to legally wed. My wifey and I will be tying the knot too… it’s so exciting! All the best to the ladies and gents out there who are abuzz with wedding plans… congratulations to all!

What a great ceremony, and what a great couple.
i just wanted to say i think its wonderful they finally got married its rough on us here in Tennessee since we cant get married here yet we hope and pray some day it will be passed for gays and lesbians can get married in the state of tennessee. But me and my honey are planning a fall private wedding until we can do it legal
