Meeting lesbians when you live in a big city isn't usually too hard. You can go to a gay youth group, the gay and lesbian center or a local lesbian bar. But what about if you're a lesbian coming out in a small town? Where do you meet other lesbians? Sally in Little Rock wrote in asking for help in meeting women. There is no community center and she hasn't had luck with internet dating. So where can you meet other lesbians and bisexual women in small and conservative towns?

I too came out in a small town, went online and went on dozens of ‘meet & greets’…….found a keeper and kept her for nearly 7yrs…..doncha love the net????
Hi Sally! I was shocked when I moved to LR 2 yrs ago from a large gay community to absolutely nothing here in LR.It’s like the dark ages or something.The closest Gay community is up north in Eureka Springs,but they more than make up for the capitol city.Puts them to shame! If you want gay bars they are here.I don’t drink,so I don’t go out to the bars for entertainment.I go north to the small town of Eureka!Springs and revel in my gayness.It’s the one place in the bible belt where the conservative bible thumpers are a minority.Hallelujah!LOL!
There are several gay bars in Little Rock, UBU, Discovery, Backstreet (which is in the same building as Discovery)and across the river in North Little Rock is Side Street.
When in a new town and you can’t find a gay bar, ask a cab driver or just call the cab company. There are also several churches, incluing mine, New Beginings in North Little Rock. Good luck, there are a lot of us here in the Rock. And yes, Eureka Springs is a wonderful town to anyone who is different and is also very beautiful and quaint.
