Despite the hurricane headed our way, I was excited to be on the inaugural cruise of Sweet, a new lesbian travel company that strives to better the world while having an amazing time.
We did escape Hurricane Ida, but ran into some rough seas in her wake. Regardless, I was so impressed with this new travel company and how well they did to meet their goals of eco-friendly travel, volunentourism and just plain fun times.
We made a difference in the ports we visited by cleaning up beaches, planting trees, donating to schools and painting a children's hospital. But we also made a difference by educating the local community a bit about lesbians. The local media reported about our good deeds and activities. I can only hope that some lesbian in Belize or Honduras heard about us and we made her life a little easier somehow. Here's more about my time on the Sweet Cruise.

Wow, looks like you had a very nice vacation. Welcome back.
Having experienced both Sweet and Olivia – I honestly have to say Olivia is better.
Even though the hurricane may have added to the problems – there was no excuse for the shows to start so late from the scheduled (and re-scheduled) times!
Everything seemed to be so chaotic. And the fact that there were straight couples and gay men aboard – did help for me, as this was billed as the largest lesbian cruise ever!
And, although I truly applaud the effort – volunteering and donating items/supplies to the places we visited is nothing new – Olivia travel has been doing that for many years.
So, I can say I tried the “future” of lesbian travel – but I’ll just stick with real lesbian cruises!
