Washington, DC has become the latest place in the US where same-sex couples can marry. Same-sex couples were able to apply for marriage licenses on March 3rd and will be able to pick them up on March 9th. That means on Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 the couples who were among the first to apply for marriage licenses on the first day marriage equality became legal in the District of Columbia will be the first to legally wed.
