Follow me on:

I first heard about Lucy Jane Bledsoe back in 1995. She was coming to town to promote her first book Sweat. I read in our local gay newspaper that it was a book about lesbians, sports and sex. I had a feeling this was a book I was going to enjoy. I showed up for her reading and have been a huge fan ever since.

Lucy Jane Bledsoe is a writer and an adventurer. She's been to Antarctica three times and her latest novel, Big Bang Symphony is set there. It's about the lives of three women who will be forever changed by the harsh and beautiful continent.

I interviewed Lucy Jane Bledsoe about being a lesbian writer, her attraction to Antarctica and where she finds her inspiration.

Lucy is heading out on book tour this Spring and Summer. Keep an eye out for her visiting your local bookstore. The Big Bang Symphony book launch party is Thursday, May 6, 7:00 pm at Diesel Bookstore, 5433 College Avenue, Oakland, CA.

She'll also be at Saints and Sinners Literary Festival May 13-16 reading from her book and teaching writing workshops.

I remember hiding “Sweat” under my bed in high school. I haven’t thought about it in years! My girlfriend and I would pull it out and read it, and resonate with its images, knowing we weren’t alone. Excited for “Big Bang Symphony”!

The read her books, The Big Bike Race and Cougar Canyon?

I’ll have to add The Big Bang Symphony to my books to read list.
