Most Romantic Lesbian Movies

By January 20, 2011

Follow me on:

Lesbian Life movie reviewer Stephanie Schroeder is the first to admit that she's no romantic. It takes a lot to pull on her heart strings. And I think that's a good thing when it comes to picking romantic movies. She dug deep into her movie vault, just in time for Valentine's day, to share with us, her top Most Romantic Lesbian Movies.

Valentine's Day isn't all about romance. It's about sex too. So, I've compiled a list of my favorite lesbian sex scenes. I'm not saying the movies are good (although, in some cases they are), just each of these films has a particularly good lesbian sex scene.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with our lists? What are your favorite lesbian romantic or sexy lesbian movies?

Desert Hearts all the way for me. It was the first lesbian film I ever saw (oh so many years ago!). There weren’t so many films around then and no films of comparable quality, many were poorly made, very low budget films. I really love this film.

Of that list I’d have to say Fingersmith is my favorite. However, When Night is Falling has that one beat in my opinion.

The movie “The Kids are all right” was the WORST lesbian movie ever. There is finally a movie that portrays a lesbian couple and its tainted with dick. I was furious that one of the women sleep with the biological father of her kids. Straight people already think that lesbians are a fake union. This movie diminished the years of hard work that our lgbt community has done. The icing on the cake was that the women get back together after one of them being unfaithful with a man. HORRIBLE!!!!

I would have to agree that “The Kids are Alright” was a real mood killer, here I thought I was taking my family (three kids and two moms) to a film that could accurately convey our families lifestyle and I was bombarded by porn (within the first few minutes, and way was it MALE porn??) and then to suggest that one of the women was not happy in her chosen role as a mom and partner that she needed to cheat with a man, had it been another woman I would have been happier, but the fact that she chose the sperm doner just suggested to the viewer that she in fact was not happy, as we ALL must be, with her long term female partner and she needed a man…..I guess that’s what the world must believe!

I was looking forward to see this movie. But I really didnt like it to put it nicely.!!!

I didnt like the plot. And the film maker doesnt care if we lesbians like it or not.. and she’s right :D ’cause its art and fictional. But I really really really would have liked if there would have been cheating with someone else.. :P eg the wife of the donor :P :D hahahhah. (but unfortunately he was single).
So I didn’t like it. A lesbian cheating with a guy ieghhh :D .
