As a child, I had a crush on her. Kristy McNichol played Buddy on the TV show Family, and as a young tomboy, she was someone I could totally relate to. My favorite role of hers has to be the classic movie Little Darlings with Tatum O'Neal and Matt Dillon. When I heard that Kristy McNichol came out, I posted it on my Facebook page. A number of people commented that that they thought she was already out. So, I'm sure this will not come as a surprise to many people, but I guess it's official now. Kristy McNichol is a lesbian.

That’s old news. I thought she was when she starred on Family – the only reason I watched that show. I never got that vibe from Meredith though. :)

How more interesting would the movie Little Darlings have been if it had ended with Kristy’s character telling Tatum’s character that having sex with Dillon only confirmed what she already knew – she is a lesbian and not into guys? There was more chemistry between Kristy and Tatum than between Kristy and Dillon. Her character looked like she regretted giving herself to Dillon.

I’m glad Kristy is doing well and as much as I miss her talent I hope she stays away from hollywood.

I think it’s great she is officially out! I hear she mainly decided to make it official because of her anti-bullying work.

Back in the eighties, I was at the Michigan Women’s Music Festival, and and Kristy was there.

And everyone knew she was there. . .
