The Third Sex - What is the Third Sex?

Definition: The Third Sex is a term that was used to describe homosexual men and women in the nineteenth century. Heterosexual men were considered the "First Sex." Heterosexual women were the "Second Sex." And those that fell between, gay men, lesbians and bisexuals were considered "The Third Sex."
