Why do gays have to be so flamboyant?

By , About.com Guide

Question: Why do gays have to be so flamboyant?
Answer: Gay people are everywhere. We are doctors, lawyers, beauticians and school teachers. We’re also actors, drag queens, cabaret singers and body builders. Gay Pride is a day of celebration. A big party. It’s the day to show off our most flamboyant and far-out sides. It’s a parade akin to Marti Gras. Not all gay people are comfortable with the flamboyant edges of our community, but like every other group, gays and lesbians are a diverse lot.
