The newest addition in the Anderson-Minshall Blind Eye Mystery series must rank #1 in all current suspenseful tales for the GLBTQ Community. It is a solid mystery, turning the pages for the reader with the shear force of the unbeatable writing.

Well-Crafted Lesbian Mystery

These two talented authors pit the Blind Eye sleuths against a deadly torture facility for queer youth. When one teen goes missing and two others are found dead, the only thing they have in common is the faith based residential school bent on turning kids straight. But this is just the beginning of this well crafted mystery. The story also introduces new relationships within the detective agency.

I felt very involved with the familiar family of characters because I have read the other two novels …but Diane and Jacob write the background information of the detective cast so well that one need not have read the other two books in the Blind Eye Mystery series before this one. Although, I highly recommend that you not miss out on them.

Murder in The Ex-Gay Movement

Tolerance, Acceptance, Understanding - It’s unlikely that the youngest Blind Eye team member, Tucker, will find these in her undercover spy work at the remote residential ex-gay youth facility. This boot-camp reform school gets high on aversion therapy. The Pioneer Institute’s staff members make you hate them - they walk around with an air of superiority because apparently they have all the answers for stripping queer youth of their heart and soul. The torture is justified in the name of religion. But can death be justified too? How far will they go? Who can stop them? Is the inexperienced Tucker in danger of being converted to a straight world through aversion therapy? Or worse yet, will she lose her life like two other young women have?

A Mystery Until the End

I had no idea how the book would resolve. I was surprised by the hidden messages I missed along the way. I have to say that it’s not often that I miss clues. I think I was too busy focusing on catching my breath as I ran along with this emotionally charged and action packed mystery. Blind Faith delivers.

If I had one complaint, it would be that these self-righteous brainwashing, torturing, pigs didn’t pay their dues soon enough. But, Anderson-Minshall know how to write a mystery, fulfilling this reader’s request with an ending I will not soon forget. Satisfaction guaranteed!
