Goldfish Memory filmWolfe Video
Why can’t they make fun, smart movies like this in the United States? Where people are people and their sexual orientation is just one aspect of their character. Goldfish Memory has to be one of my favorite films in 2004. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Dublin, a cast of attractive characters falls in and out of love with each other.

Life is a Circle

The films starts with Tom (Sean Campion), the womanizing professor who uses the same line on each of his unsuspecting conquests. He woos each girl telling her that goldfish only have a three second memory and therefore each pass around the bowl is a new experience. He says the same is true of humans in love.

But when Tom meets his match and gets unexpectedly dumped, his world falls apart. But the lives of his two most recent female friends open wide up.

A fun, light film with many sexualities

Clara (Fiona O'Shaughnessy) dumps Tom and finds herself with Angie (Flora Montgomery), the clingy, but cute journalist. Then Isolde (Fiona Glascott), another of Tom’s conquests and Clara end up together. Whether gay, lesbian, straight or bisexual, you never know who is going to end up in bed with whom in this funny, sexy film.

This film is light and fun. Don’t expect it to get too deep and you’ll love it like I did.
