For those of us with a DIY sensibility, or just too strapped for cash to buy a decent strap-on, might consider making our own. Certainly people have been using household objects to get off with for centuries. Here are a few things to try.
Cucumbers make a good substitute for a dildo. Pick out one at the supermarket that seems the right girth, or you can use a peeler to get it down to the size you want. Be sure to cover it with a condom before inserting into your body.
Note: Never put a foreign object, unless it is one especially made for anal sex, into your anus.
2. Shower Head
Vibrating shower heads can be used for clitoral stimulation, much like a vibrator. Some women also position themselves under the running water of the bathtub faucet, with their legs up the wall and their legs open under the stream of wam water.
3. Electric Toothbrush
The vibration of an electric toothbrush is very similar to the vibration of your favorite vibrator. Just don’t use your brother's toothbrush and put it back.
4. Other things that vibrate
Your electric razor, your washing machine, a back massager, or even your cell phone on vibrate are all things that you can use to stimulate your clitoris. Just be sure if you have direct body contact that you put a condom over it or make sure it’s clean.
5. Homemade harness
If you have a dildo, but not a harness, you can insert it through the opening of a tight fitting pair of men’s underwear. If they’re not snug enough, you can tighten by using rope or silky scarves. Just be careful not to cut off circulation by tying too tightly.
6. Nipple clamps
Old fashioned clothes pins or chip bag clips can be used as nipple clamps.
7. Do it Yourself Vibrating Sex Toys
Of course there are more complicated sex toys that you can build if you are so inclined. Here’s a great site with instructions for building electronic sex toys for those who are technically inclined.
