Seimone Augustus - Lesbian Olympian:
Seimone Augustus is appearing for the second time on the US Olympic team in London 2012. The United States women are hoping to win their fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal under her leadership. Seimone Augustus comes to the team as the reigning WNBA Finals MVP.

Seimone Augustus has been dating LaTaya Varner for five years and the two plan to be married in 2013. This summer she will be busy trying to take her Minnesota Lynx to another WNBA championship and, most importantly, bringing home a gold medal for Team USA.

Seimone Augustus - Basketball Phenomenon:
Seimone Augustus has been making waves in the sport of basketball since she was a little girl. At age three, she was playing on a team with five-year-old boys. She was on the cover of Sports Illustrated for Kids
when she was 14.
Seimone Augustus played college ball at Louisiana State where she was a three-time all-American and took her team to three straight Final Fours. She won the prestigious Naismith College Player of the Year Award, the Wooden Award and Wade Trophy. She is the only female LSU player to her her jersey number retired.
In 2006 Augustus was the number one pick in the WNBA draft and was voted a WNBA All-Star and Rookie of the Year.
She won an Olympic Gold medal in Beijing in 2008 and then led her Minnesota Lynx to the WNBA championship in 2011 where she was voted the finals MVP.
Seimone Augustus - Bouncing Back:
Like a lot of athletes, Seimone Augustus has been plagued with injuries. She played only six games in 2009 after tearing her ACL. She then missed the first nine games of 2010 after undergoing surgery to remove three non-cancerous tumors called fibroids from her abdomen and lower back. According to her NBC Olympics site, one fibroid was the size of a baby's head, another as big as a grapefruit.
She's since recovered and is playing at the top of her game.
