What’s new this week on the L Word? Here’s a recap of Season 2, Episode 8 that aired April 10th.
This week Jenny is going to meet with Burr Connor, action film hero from the 1980s, to help him write his memoirs. 1985: Burr is filming some sort of Western with his hunky-costar. Back at their trailer, Burr finds this guy in bed being fucked by another guy. Burr is pissed. What if this guy goes to the Starr? Hmm, something tells me this is not going to fare well for Jenny and her writing gig.
Alice & Dana in Bed
There are Alice and Dana again in that delicious bed. There’s Alice slowly easing her way on top of Dana’s back. There’s Dana really enjoying it, until, Oh God, she realized it’s Monday. Oh, crap. Both of them have wasted the weekend making love when they should have been working out and writing. Oh, please girls, save the working out and writing for three years from now when Lesbian Bed Death sets in.
They both leap out of bed and Alice looks so cute with her messy hair and glasses. How can Dana resist her? But she’s a good girlfriend. She goes and makes coffee while Alice prepares for her big KCRW interview.
Shane’s Black Eye
Shane’s eying her black eye in the mirror and of course Mark is watching from his bedroom. Is there always going to be heavy metal music playing when Shane’s on the screen now?
Bette & Tina & The Baby & Helena
Bette and Tina meet to discuss the baby. Bette seems to have mellowed. She talks of going to therapy. She tells Tina, “I never got to say how happy I am for you. For us.” Both agree to focus on being really good parents.
Then Helena comes in to take Tina house hunting. See how she puts her hand on the middle of Tina’s back, to shove it in Bette’s face that she owns Tina now.
Jenny & Carmen
Jenny and Carmen are talking about Charlotte, Jenny’s writing teacher. Are Jenny and Carmen a couple now? After that weird slapping last episode? Ick! Carmen thinks Jenny has a crush on her teacher and she thinks Jenny should go for it. Jenny thinks Carmen should be jealous. So Carmen agrees to be jealous. Double ick! And then they proceed to make out in the street.
Mark and the Pornographer
Mark and Gomie are trying to get some sleazy guy to finance their lesbian porno film. But Mark’s images of Shane and Jenny just aren’t cutting it. “I want pussy that I can smell and taste,” he tells them. Mark starts in on his spiel, like they’re more than just pussy, they’re real live people with feelings and personalities. Yea, right Mark. Like you care. But Gomie cares. He cares about the cash, so he promises to deliver all the pussy they want.
Later while reviewing the tapes Gomie catches onto Mark’s obsession with Shane. “She’s some total lez who’s never going to give you the time of day. You’ve got a real live dick and that disqualifies you from getting up in there.” Let’s hope Gomie is speaking the truth. If they even try to put Mark and Shane in bed together, I am going to have to kill somebody.
Helena’s Houses
Tina accompanies Helena house hunting. Before considering any property she must determine whether or not it is conducive to love making. Tina seems a little shy, but acquiesces under Helena’s nimble fingers. Helena’s got a thing about public love-making. This time it’s the realtor who walks in on them.
What’s the deal with Helena anyway? What is this thing she’s got with Tina? Do you think it’s a convoluted and twisted way to get at Bette? But why? Is she really in love with Bette?
The next house is one of Bette’s favorites, the one from Architectural Digest. The one Bette called the quintessential beach house. Tina, are you thinking you’d rather be in this house with Bette? Helena gets a phone call and proceeds to ream someone a new a@@hole. Tina, are you starting to get a picture of what this Helena lady is really like? But she’s so gushing over the house, and that’s enough for Helena to take it on the spot.
