Ellen's Guests
The guests the day of our taping were Ashton Kutcher, Julie Bowen, Fantasia and Fan Yang, a champion bubble blower. He was supposed to encapsulate Ellen and Ashton in gigantic bubble, but when after four tries the bubble kept popping, they just moved on.
During commercial breaks, the music was brought up and we danced. Ellen’s hair, makeup and stylist all crowded around her and made tiny adjustments to her hair and makeup. The producer went over the cues for the next segment and she chatted a bit with the guest. The producers talked to her about the next segments. On a few commercial breaks she danced and waved to audience members.
Fantasia from American Idol performed. For some reason the audience did not get copies of her CD. Ellen did shake hands with each of the band members after they played.
After the taping of our show was over, Ellen and Tony ran off to change clothes. We learned that Queen Latifah was over at Jay Leno taping the Tonight Show and she was coming over to film an interview with Ellen for airing Monday April 4th. We were psyched! We all love The Queen! After the interview and a game of “humdinger” with Queen Latifah, it was all over.
Once the cameras stopped rolling, Ellen finally addressed the audience. She wanted to know if the women who drove all night got in. (They did.) She thanked us for coming and for all the great energy we provide for her. She said that the rest of this year is sold out and they have a 30,000 waiting list for next year’s show. Finally, as we were leaving the studio, we saw Ellen drive off the lot in her Porsche with Portia de Rossi at her side. She beeped and waved to us as we made our way back to our cars.
