How did you come out to your parents?
My ex-husband told my twin brother, who told my whole famiy without me knowing....
What did you say?
I denied it at first, and then my brother said he was ok with it and he loved me no matter what. He said he just wanted me to tell him the truth. I did, and he was so accepting of it, it made me cry. He said he loved me no matter what and nothing could change that. I asked him not to tell anyone else, and he said it was too late. I was really mad at first, until he told me that my dad was the same about it as he was. Then my mom just chooses to not acknowledge what is really going on with my girlfriend and I and my older brother is the same way. They like my girlfriend and they are nice to her and accept her, they just chose not to think about us that way.
Advice
- I am totally ok with the way I came out. In a way, it made it easier. I didn't have to sit anyone down and tell them. It has only been four months, and everyone has come around to accepting my girlfriend and I are together, and that my ex-husband and I are divorced. We are still friends though, which is great because we were before we got married anyway. I would not do anything different. I think we should all accept the way we come out as a growing experience and each way is what makes us unique. No regrets I always say...
