Where I met my partner?
I was a freshman in high school and was dating my first serious boyfriend. It was Christmas time and I went with him and his family "treeing." We then reached his mother's friend's house. I sat on the couch next to my boyfriend and was very nervous. When my boyfriend went to get my a drink, (girl's name) came up and introduced herself to me. She was the daughter of his mother's friend and their families were very close. We sat next to each other on the couch and began to talk. We talked and laughed until it was time to leave. We exchanged numbers and said goodbye.
How we fell in love
We then became close. I would visit her at her locker between periods and her, my boyfriend, and I began to hang out. I was falling for her, but I wasn't sure if she was into me. Unfortunately, we lost touch when my boyfriend broke up with me and she graduated from high school. We would IM or text here and there, but it wasn't like the old days. It was sad, so I decided to move on. On a summer day of my junior year, something hit me. I had this dream that I needed to talk to her. I began to text her and we started talking about college. The college that I was going to was the one she was already at. It was crazy. When fall came we were in and out of contact and once I received my acception letter to my dream college, she had to be the first to know, so I told her. We talked and I found out that her and her girlfriend recently broke up. I was totally jealous that she was with someone, yet happy that they were over. Scared of losing her again, I was determined to keep her in my life. I told her we needed to hang out. So, on winter break, she came home and all the feelings we shared came rushing back. Her and I became official that spring and are now engaged! We could not be happier. The love of my life was under my nose the whole time!
