Where I met my partner?

I came as an Au-Pair (nanny from overseas) to Seattle and didn't know anybody. After a week or so I got bored of exploring the city on my own so I decided to try craigslist to find someone to hang out with.

I found this one add which caught my eye for a reason I don't really know - there was no picture and just a few words so not really anything catchy.

I responded and I got an answer the next day.... We wrote a few e-mails and she was new to Seattle too (She moved from Boston).

How we fell in love

When I told her that I just knew other Au-pairs and I didn't really had a change to go out yet since they are all under age she was like "OK we are going out tonight!" We met at a popular club and she came with 2 other friends so that we all could have a great time - what we did. I danced a lot with other girls and just had fun. After a short time she grabbed me and told me that she totally fell for my German accent and we started to forget the world around us and had just eyes for each other. We went home together that night and couldn't get enough from each other. At the next day we met for a real date and our chemistry was still perfect. We had dinner together and first it was a bit wired and we both didn't know what to say but after while we got more and more comfortable with each other. From there on we met every day. She showed me the American way of Life and I taught her a bit German and my culture. We just had the most perfect time together. My hostfamily loved her and she become pretty quick a part of it. After about 9 months she asked me in the most romantic way to marry her. She had flowers everywhere and sang a song for me and all of our friends were involved. Now we are almost 2 years together.

After a year I had to move back to Austria since my Visa was over and she moved to Austria with me. About a month ago she had to go back because her Visa was over but I will follow her in a few months to study over there. Till then we talk every day a couple times. It hurts everyday to wake up and she is not with me - I never knew that I could love and miss somebody that way! She showed me what real love is. I don't know how life would be without her and I hope I never have to know it!!!

She is the love of my life and I would follow her wherever I need to be with her!

Advice

  • never give up on love - if it is meant to be you can always work it out somehow. It can be difficult but it is not impossible!!!
  • long-distance relationships are not impossible if you trust each other and if you knew each other for a longer period of time.
  • Love with all your heart if you feel it is worth it - even if it could hurt you!
  • Love has no borders.
