Where I met my partner?
I originally met my partner at www.lesbianpersonalsonline.com. She was living in Racine, WI and I was living in Appleton, WI (a three hour distance). There wasn't sparks, but I thought she was nice and invited her to come up to the "big city" on New Years Eve.
The day before, a long time crush at the local gay club decided to show interest in me, so I immediately canceled plans with Michelle to pursue this girl. The girl and I hooked up in new relationship bliss for about two weeks...and then she stole $300 from me and disappeared from my life with no warning.
How we fell in love
I then did what most 20 somethings would do...got completely tanked and called Michelle bawling. I think. At least, her phone number was on my cell phone when I woke the next day. I called her apologizing profusely and asked her to come to Appleton so I could buy her lunch and hang out as friends...I was so over relationships.
She came to Appleton, four hours later we were kissing, three days later she went back to Racine and four weeks later she moved in with me. That will be four years this January!
Advice
- DO NOT have expectations (as if that's so easy to do!) I didn't want a relationship at all when Michelle and I met...I still didn't want one a month later but I thought, I'll just take things one day at a time. We did, and now we're spending the rest of our life together. Even though it started in heartbreak, I wouldn't change it for the world.
