Where I met my partner?
I met Maria...online. Yes I said it. Online! I was searching for people, and there she was. Just this little soft butch cutie. My heart melted right away. And her profile on POF was just so cute, she held a humor and her words made me smile. So I sent her a message, told her that her profile made me giggle.
She responded about three hours later and we set a time to speak on the phone. I was a little scared to do such a deliberate thing but I called her. She sounded adorable, we spoke for a little over ten hours. 2 weeks later we met. And the rest is History. She is my soul mate. I am the happiest woman in the world!
How we fell in love
Maria told me that she loved me four hours into our conversation. Now I know that sounds soon, but I honestly felt the same way. When we met it was literally love at first sight. I know as cheesy as it sounds but she literally had my air frozen in my lungs and my heart beating out of my chest.
She had the biggest heart I have ever known a person to have. We fell in love the moment we saw each other and now we are a force to be reckoned with. We are engaged to be married on October 28, 2010. Our 1 year anniversary. We couldn't have made better partners for each of us. We understand and communicate so well. Nothing in this world is too tough for us to make it through.
We are made for each other. Our love is beyond our hearts, it covers our souls, our whole beings. And you can't let something like that slip away.
Advice
- Communicate. Tell your partner your problems, your concerns and what makes you feel good.
- Don't sweat the small stuff. Like in our situation, distance was a barrier...but we found a way because we loved each other not to give up.
- Listen. Open not just your ears but your heart to your loved ones past hurts and happy memories. Listen and know what is important to them.
- LOVE! Just remember people wait a life time for this feeling. Don't take it for granted. Know that the closeness and the intimate details of your body, heart, head and soul rest in the other persons hands and vice versa.
- Walk beside them.
