Where I met my partner?
I first met my partner at a MCC church. She came for the first time and the day, she came I was singing a solo in church. She came up and talked to me, introduced herself and told me that she liked my voice. She told me that she was having a Labor Day party and invited me to come. I told her that I would, because we both had the same mutual friends. So I went to her party and had a great time.
How we fell in love
We became great friends and we just clicked from the start. I always say to people, if love doesn't come easy then leave it alone. If its an effort or is very awkward, then it probably won't work out if there's no chemistry. You have to have chemistry. But you also have to take things slow and get to know people. Really know them, inside and out. Because when you go through the hard times, that's what holds couples together. We took things slow and dated for six months and I even waited a couple of months, before I kissed her. I just didn't want to get hurt. I knew she was the one for me, but I wanted to make sure that she was on the same level. We were on the same level. After six months of dating, I knew that I just wanted to be with her. I told her that and I asked her if she felt the same way. I told her that I didn't want to pressure her, but I didn't want to casually date anyone else. If she did, I was giving her an out. I told her to let me know in a couple of days. She told me the next day, that she only wanted me. I knew she was the one for me, from the first time that I met her. We just clicked in every way and I knew we would be great together. Well our strategy has paid off. We have been together almost 16 years. We love each other and we look forward to growing old together.
