Is Bisexuality a Stage?

By Kathy Belge, About.com

Question: Is Bisexuality a Stage?
Answer: It can be. Because we are raised in a heterosexist society, coming out as gay or lesbian can take a lot of introspection and self-reflection. Often people who are just coming out as lesbian or gay first identity as bisexual. This can be because they think it will be more accepted by society, it's more palatable to themselves or simply because they're trying to figure out where they land in the LGB spectrum.

But bisexuality is not always a phase. For some men and women it is a true and life-long identity.
