Question: What is National Coming Out Day?
Answer: National Coming Out Day is celebrated around the world each year on October 11th. National Coming Out Day was started in 1988, the one year anniversary of a national march for gay and lesbian rights in Washington, DC. The purpose of National Coming Out Day is to raise awareness in the community about the lives of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people. People often use this day to come out to someone who doesn't know they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or trans.
