With chapters on lesbian dating, stalking, lesbian sex and even drunk dykes, this book offers insight into all kinds of dyke drama. One of the funniest chapters is called, "The Cast of Characters", where Lange describes some very funny dyke stereotypes. Like the Serious Lesbian, who "Somewhere along the road to forming her philosophical and political convictions, this lesbian lost her sense of humor... Often heard line, 'Chicken is meat.'" Or there's The Note Writer, The Public Massager and The $14 Lesbian. "She'll make you pay for everything because she always claims she only has $14 in her checking account." It's scary how many of these lesbians I know!

Lange had done her research! She offers many examples of real lesbian drama. Real lesbians share their own terriflying, funny and sexy tales. You're sure to read about yourself or someone you know in this book. From the confessions of a dyke bouncer to lesbian love triangle victim, unfortunately many of these stories will be familiar to many a lesbian.

My one criticism of this book is that some of the serious subjects, like stalking and abusive relationships are treated too lightly. For example, she has a cute little quiz titled, "When Your Stalker Has a Gun." Your stalker drives up, rolls down her window, aims an assault rifle in your direction, and shouts, "Get in!" You should: The choices include getting in and telling her you love her and running away in a zig zag pattern. Sprinkled in Lange's attempts at humor and making light is some serious and good advice. The problem is, if you're a victim of stalking, you don't want to have to wade through all the silliness.

This book makes a great gift for an ex-lover. Send it to her on her next birthday and have her guess which chapter(s) remind you of her.
