She Tried to Put Me on the Pill

How did you come out to your parents?

My mom was forcing me to go to the doctor's office to get the contraceptive pill because she suspected that I was having sexual relations with guys at my age. I'm 16. She brought me there and the doctor said that it was unnecessary to put me on the pill if I wasn't having any sexual relations. We were in the car on our way back home when I told her.

What did you say?

As she was asking me a million questions about sex, the need to tell her about my first girlfriend (of 2 weeks at the time) built up inside of me.

Her: Have you ever had sex?

Me: No.

Her: Have you ever done stuff with a guy?

Me: No.

Her: Are you lying?

Me: No.

Her: I don't believe you.

Me. ...

Her: Do you have a boyfriend?

Me: No..... I'm going out with Julia (fake name).

Her: Excuse me?

Me: Julia is my girlfriend.

Her: ...

And then she asked me a bunch of questions like: "Are you completely sure? Why women? Please don't tell me you like boys too, that's gross"

And she also added that she hopes that I'll one day realize that I like men better and that we're not allowed to sleep in the same bed...

She seemed disappointed.

Advice

  • Well, at least she didn't kick me out of the house.
  • I should have stayed longer in the car when we arrived home and made her understand that I will not go back to men.. and that she should accept me the way I am.
  • We get along well... I think she's accepting it more now.
